Instruction of translators
The application form completed by the translator or the documents submitted by him are checked by the management and assessed in accordance with the criteria for the selection of a translator and based on the assessment form for translators.
If the criteria required are fulfilled, the translator is given one / several translation order/orders to be produced either free of charge or subject to charges, which as far as possible has/have extensive characteristic features of the respective specialist area. This is agreed with the translator by the management. In addition to the sample text, the translator receives the execution requirements, the Data Protection Statement and if necessary sample texts.
Taking account of the circumstances of the individual case (language combination, specialist area, special proven experience of the translator, etc.) the management can dispense with the production of sample translations in exceptional cases.

After receipt, the translation/s is/are checked by the management / office manager. The office manager appoints an appropriate translator for this task. The results are documented in the "Assessment form for proofreading". If the results of the checking fulfil the requirements, a decision is made regarding an instruction phase.
If necessary, instruction takes place commensurate with the result of the proofreading and the assessment. The purpose of this instruction is to familiarise the applicant with the execution requirements, the quality requirements of the company and with peculiarities (terms etc.) of the texts to be translated.
During the instruction, the applicant's work is monitored for a specific period of time which is determined for each individual case. The work of the applicant is proofread throughout the instruction phase. The instruction is carried out by experienced translators and embraces the thorough checking of all textual and formal requirements in accordance with the criteria for proofreading as well as advising the translator, the supply of sample texts, dictionaries, special terminology (glossaries), etc. The applicant receives one example of each corrected version for information.
If the result of the instruction phase fulfils the requirements imposed and the parties concur, an agreement governing freelance work is concluded in duplicate. An entry is made for inclusion in the book of translators.
If the results of the checking do not fulfil the requirements imposed, the translator is informed accordingly and the application documents are returned.
Now and then, translators work for us on rare occasions only or on a one-off basis in a special case. In such cases only documents which are useful for the current order and apply for this are to be sent for the time being.
